The opening night of La Prima Estate at Parco BussolaDomani in Lido di Camaiore, scheduled for Friday 19 June 2026, promises to be an unmissable event for rock fans: The Hives and Sunday (1994) will take to the stage before Jack White’s concert, creating a line-up of the highest intensity.

The meeting of Jack White and The Hives on the same stage holds special significance: in the speech he gave a few weeks ago at his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Jack White specifically mentioned The Hives among the bands that have most inspired him throughout his artistic career. Seeing them together on the same night in Lido di Camaiore makes the opening of La Prima Estate 2026 a real treat for anyone who loves rock in its most energetic and visceral forms.
Active for over thirty years, The Hives – Howlin’ Pelle, Chris Dangerous, The Johan And Only, Nicholaus Arson and Vigilante Carlstroem – have carved their name into rock history, filling arenas and stadiums across the globe and sharing the stage with legends such as AC/DC and The Rolling Stones. The BBC described them as “a force of nature”, whilst Rolling Stone included the album Veni Vidi Vicious in its Top 100 Albums of the Decade. The single Hate To Say I Told You So made it onto Pitchfork’s list of the Top 500 Songs of the 2000s. With millions of records sold, platinum discs and numerous international accolades – including Grammy Awards, MTV Awards and NME Awards – The Hives are considered one of the most influential bands of their generation As Joe Strummer said, “it’s The Hives who saved rock ’n’ roll”.
Rounding off the evening will be Sunday (1994), an Anglo-American trio with a dream pop sound and cinematic atmospheres, capable of blending indie influences and ethereal melodies within a highly visual imagery. Self-confessed film buffs, they chose a stylised name reminiscent of a film title, emphasising the narrative and cinematic approach of their music. The project revolves around the songwriting of Paige Turner and Lee Newell, a guitarist whose look is openly inspired by Buddy Holly, and finds its signature in tracks conceived as emotive soundtracks, perfect for accompanying night-time scenes, journeys and moments of suspension. An identity that adds a more dreamlike and pop dimension to the festival’s opening night. An identity that adds a more dreamlike and pop dimension to the festival’s opening night.
