La Prima Estate is gearing up for an unforgettable fifth edition and is set to light up the stage with three big names.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Twenty One Pilots and Gorillaz are the first headliners announced for the festival line-up; the first two will be performing on the only Italian date of their tour.
The venue remains Parco BussolaDomani, a unique stage just a stone’s throw from the sea, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and nestled against the Apuan Alps. The festival, which originated in Versilia at Lido di Camaiore, thus reaffirms its international vision and returns this year with its two-weekend format in June: from 19 to 21 and from 26 to 28.
The great Australian performer Nick Cave arrives in Tuscany on Friday 26 June with his trusty Bad Seeds, renowned for their unforgettable performances and widely regarded as one of the most thrilling live bands in the world.
Together, they look back over four decades of a career that has made history, right up to *Wild God*, their latest acclaimed album, which has given audiences a top 10 hit in several European countries and a sold-out tour.
Their most recent live performances have been described as moving by The Guardian and deeply inspiring by Mojo, to name but two.
A true global phenomenon and with a Grammy under their belt, Gorillaz arrive on Saturday 27 June ready to celebrate their 25th anniversary – a period during which they have revolutionised the very concept of a band by creating a unique, colourful, disruptive and innovative world.
Following the release of the new single *The Happy Dictator*, there is great anticipation for the new album *The Mountain*, due out in March next year, and a new live show – four years on from their last performance in Italy – which, as always, promises to impress with a fresh line-up of guests.
Born from the multifaceted and brilliant mind of Damon Albarn and the artist Jamie Hewlett, the virtual band consists of singer 2D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, drummer Russel Hobbs and the prodigious Japanese guitarist Noodle.
From Ohio comes the duo who have captured the sentiments of a generation with an ever-evolving vision.
Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, known collectively as Twenty One Pilots, are coming to Versilia on Sunday 28 June. They have racked up 33 million streams, sold over 3 million tickets worldwide, bagged dozens of multi-platinum certifications, a Grammy for their memorable hit ‘Stressed Out’, and even a place in the Guinness® World Records for the longest music video in history.
With “Vessel” and “Blurryface”, the first albums that propelled them to international fame, they became the first artists in history to achieve gold or platinum certification in the United States for every single track. “Breach” is their latest release (out in September), arriving exactly 10 years on from the album that established their reputation.
In previous years, La Prima Estate has hosted, among others, Paolo Nutini, Bon Iver, Jamiroquai, Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent, Air, Jane’s Addiction, Michael Kiwanuka, The National and Anderson Paak.
The Municipality of Camaiore and the Region of Tuscany are the festival’s institutional partners. Virgin Radio is the official radio station.
