La Prima Estate has announced the line-up for Saturday 20 June, choosing to enhance the festival programme in Lido di Camaiore with an all-Italian evening featuring four leading bands from Italy’s independent scene on stage at Parco BussolaDomani, just a stone’s throw from the Versilia coast.
Marlene Kuntz, Ministri, Casino Royale and SI! BOOM! VOILÀ! these are the new names joining the line-up for this fifth edition, performing alongside Jack White, The Libertines and Richard Ashcroft’s only Italian date over the same weekend.
A prestigious line-up – now almost finalised – which will feature Gorillaz and the UK premieres of Nick Cave (with his trusty Bad Seeds) and Twenty One Pilots over the coming weekend.
With a distinct musical ethos, the evening of 20 June celebrates the coming together of some of the most established names on the Italian alternative scene with major international acts. No concessions to the mainstream; instead, the focus is on rock and artists who share the same musical urgency.
Starting with Marlene Kuntz, who, on the stage at La Prima Estate, are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Il Vile, the album released in 1996 that has become a true milestone, ranked by Rolling Stone Italia among the 100 greatest Italian albums of all time. Not just a concert, but a collective ritual that brings back to the audience the electrifying impact of an album that continues to set the heart of Italian rock alight.
I Ministri are bringing their latest album, “Aurora Popolare”, to the stage. Coming three years after their previous album, “Giuramenti”, it is a cry of anger and anticipation, of promises and disappointments. They promise a rock concert – intense and energetic – that will take the audience through their most beloved tracks right up to their latest releases.
Another prestigious anniversary with Casino Royale, who are returning to the stage with their ‘Sempre Più Vicini RELOADED’ tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the album that defined their musical journey. More than just a collection of songs, this is a project that blends music, aesthetics, cinema and literature into a powerful, cohesive whole, defining an approach that has established the band as one of the most visionary and influential of its generation.
With the SI! BOOM! VOILÀ! Experience and instinct coexist; every sound arises from the next; every instrument becomes a voice; and every gesture sparks a dialogue.
Formed by Roberta Sammarelli, Davide Lasala, Giulio Ragno Favero, Giulia Formica and Michelangelo Mercuri – N.A.I.P. – and with their eponymous album released this January on Woodworm, they have established themselves as a band defined by their stage presence, rhythm and urgency. A live show that promises to be electrifying for an album that does not seek perfection, but the genuine moment – the one in which the sound reveals itself to be alive, imperfect and unrepeatable.
La Prima Estate returns for its fifth edition from 19 to 21 and from 26 to 28 June at the BussolaDomani Park in Lido di Camaiore.
The Municipality of Camaiore and the Region of Tuscany are the festival’s institutional partners. Virgin Radio is the official radio station.
